The sun sets, in and into the lake
The boats return home from their faraway conquests at the sea
The fishermen look at the benevolent and the ruthless.
The seagulls hover as people splash into the water
A woman moves slowly towards the rising wave
Ah the sea brings out the child in all of us
I stand mesmerized by the gentle wash of the waves on the shore
As the cold water touches my feet, hitting my senses; I undergo some voyages and revelations more
The sand slips through from between my toes and so do so many feelings,
Diffused and terse
I touch and go those perilous waters
The sea tells me that I must know.
The breeze reminds of those wintry nights
When there was a fireplace nearby
Emotions when not intense linger by beautifully
Others jab like the sharp cold steel in the waft.
Picnic baskets lie enjoying the sun, sand and waves
Dipped feet soaking from the ever flowing spirit
The forever-giving quietly calls;
I follow the afterglow; I follow the music from the nearby waterfall
The water murmurs silently,
I hush and hark
Its getting dark
I close my eyes and closer reach
Let it go, it hums softly
Astounded I stand before the unfathomable
And grope and climb the rocks
Vulnerable and powerful; I gaze below,
Down by the water, the stars glow
They wink and whisper, Go with the flow.
